SEG stands for quality and this is embodied in its principle of demanufacturing - systematic recycling that goes far beyond simple product disposal. Demanufacturing is a comprehensive and environmentally responsible system for the post-consumer processing of refrigerator and freezer appliances that meets quality requirements comparable to those used in the original manufacturing process.

SEG's quality awareness has set milestones in the field. It is one of the few companies which has been able to meet unreservedly all the requirements set by the RAL Quality Association for its quality mark 'Reverse Production of CFC-containing Refrigerators and Freezers'*. The technical control board, TÜV, has also confirmed the quality of the SEG's services by issuing its 'Approved Refrigerator Recycling Plant' certificate, and in 1994, SEG was awarded the Saarland State Environmental Award for Industrial Waste Management.

*) 'Reverse production' is the RAL term for 'demanufacturing'.

Whilst SEG is proud to have received this recognition of its work, it regards these awards as both an incentive and an obligation to continue with and improve upon that which has been achieved so far.
